Construction Value: $8,717,873.59
Estimated Completion Date: Stage 1 - October 2010
                                           Stage 2 - April 2011
Stage 1 of the new Deanmore Primary School consists of the construction of seven new buildings (administration, library, covered assembly, arts and craft and four learning blocks) as well as new play areas, detailed landscaping and new car parking.  Stage 1 is being constructed on the schools existing playing fields and incorporating as much of the existing natural vegetation as possible.

Building construction is generally single storey, structural steel framework, internal and external face brickwork, steel roof sheeting and alumium windows and doors.  The finishes include painted plasterboard and metal ceilings, carpet and vinyl floor finishes and quality cabinetwork and joinery.  Extensive external landscaping works include block paving, limestone ampitheatre, sand pits as well as the extensive use of synthetic grass to all play areas.

Stage 2 of the works includes the demolition and clearing of the existing school buildings and facilities.  This stage of works will include the removal of a significant amount of hazardous materials including asbestos requiring the development and implementation of detailed management plans to ensure the safety of on site personnel, school staff, school students and the general public.  In place of the existing school, a new playing field, cricket and practice nets, basketball, netball and tennis hard courts will be constructed.
