Building potential where it’s needed

As a WA business, we’re proud to give back to the community through donations and in-kind contributions. We believe in building potential and helping out wherever we can. Through our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, we seek to build opportunities and provide help where it’s needed.
We get behind worthy causes
Mental health is a serious issue in our industry and the wider community. Every year, PACT raises funds for hardworking charities, including Lifeline WA, Mates in Construction, R U OK? Day, and the Vinnies Christmas Appeal. Our people are always enthusiastic about supporting charities that make a difference. Supporting our mates is an attitude built into our culture.

We have also been lucky to lend our construction expertise to fantastic causes. PACT, the Alcock Family Foundation and Webb & Brown-Neaves collaborated to provide over $100,000 of in-kind support for the Starlight Foundation’s Club ADO at Princess Margaret Hospital. We also helped Shenton Park Dog Refuge build a 16-kennel quarantine facility to further their vital support services.

We buy local

As leaders in the commercial construction industry, we have a responsibility to build potential among WA suppliers and contractors. When we work together, everyone benefits.

Contributing to WA’s growth is about more than buying local. So as well as committing to work with WA contractors and suppliers as much as possible, we go further by building lasting relationships. Where we can, we encourage capability development to grow local businesses, buy from Australian supply chains, and support the local economy.

We train tomorrows industry leaders

PACT is committed to promoting a strong training and development culture throughout all levels of the business. It starts with our own people. Our management team actively contribute to training and development, and every PACT person has a tailored Development Plan to build their skills.

We reinforce our accountability with partners and subcontractors. Training targets are built into our procurement strategy, and we keep detailed training records to make sure we’re doing what we say. Our commitment to building potential means we regularly exceed the State Government training targets. For example, we maintained an average 28.87% training rate throughout the Bob Hawke College project, far exceeding the Government’s 11.5% target.

We have high sustainability standards

In an effort to combat emissions and improve energy efficiency, we seek out innovations that make our work more sustainable. Our track record of industry-leading sustainability achievements includes:

  • The first As Built rated 6-star Green Star public building in Australia and 5-star NABERS at Mills Park
  • 4-star Green Star and 4-1/2-star NABERS (999 Hay Street Perth, Baldivis Senior High School, Banksia Grove Senior High School, Optima Centre)
  • 5-star Green Star and 5-star NABERS (WALGA and Edith Cowan University Building 34)

PACT is leading the charge on the commercial construction industry’s green revolution. By holding ourselves accountable and seeking more sustainable building solutions, we’re reducing our impact to leave a better legacy.
