PROJECT SNAPSHOT

When the Housing Industry Association (HIA) project went to tender, PACT’s brief history at the time may well have placed us at a disadvantage. Yet our short but impressive track record instilled such confidence in our abilities that we beat four other builders to win the competitively priced tender. The project was designed by BG Architecture.

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

  • We were required to successfully navigate the hectic construction market of 2005.  Pricing the job in a rising market required us to exercise our stringent financial controls to deliver a cost-effective solution for the client.
  • Regular site meetings with the client and their consulting team were held throughout the construction period to ensure even the most exacting specifications were met. The tight program was overcome by the excellent procurement and labour supply practices we have in place.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • This project was delivered in just 33 weeks.
  • We successfully tendered for the fit out works during construction of the base buildingAfter being awarded the fit out, the works were integrated into the overall construction program.

FEATURES OF DEVELOPMENT

The 1800m2 two-level purpose-built facility blends open-plan and conventional office construction with two fully equipped, dedicated training rooms on the ground floor. Additional features include a secure undercroft car park and quality staff amenities.

A high level of fixtures and finishings were also achieved. The HIA building enjoys nice elements of Kimberley stone in the elevation plus high-level ALPOLIC finishes, louvers and Colourback glass.
