Celebrating the completion of Celebration Homes’ new office building in just 26 weeks would certainly put PACT’s project management capabilities to the test.
For PACT General Manager Jason Kunkler, successful delivery was only possible by diligently managing all tasks on site; daily, weekly and monthly.
“The program was very tight, but we overcame it through good programming and our trademark diligence,” he said.
This attention to detail began in the earliest of stages, with PACT taking on a design and construct role. “We briefed the consulting team and obtained input from the management,” shared Mr Kunkler. “Once we had extracted the brief from them as to what they wanted, we communicated to the architect what was required in terms of the design.”
The resulting two-storey, 1850m2 office building comprises open plan work stations and internal offices, a selection of meeting rooms, formal boardroom, large staff hub, generous ground floor and first floor lobby space, undercroft car park with approximately 60 bays and an outdoor balcony for staff functions and events.
Externally, the building enjoys a modern and contemporary building façade integrating painted tilt up concrete panels, vision panel glazing, horizontal aluminium blade louvres and sunshades. The use of Longspan, corrugated external wall cladding and AcraTex rendered Comtex cladding systems added to the building’s modern feel.
PACT was also careful to ensure the building echoed the brand of the business that would occupy it. “We took measures to guarantee that the building material chosen reflected the Celebration Homes customer market,” informed Mr Kunkler.
“As the commercial builder for the ABN Group, it was a rewarding experience to demonstrate our project management, onsite delivery and design and construction skills to a fellow company of the group.”
